
Code of Conduct
Lower Adirondack Pride (LAP) is committed to fostering a safe, inclusive, and welcoming environment for all individuals participating in our events, programs, case management services, advocacy efforts, and general activities. This Code of Conduct outlines the expectations for all attendees, participants, volunteers, staff, and community members.
1. General Principles
All individuals involved in LAP activities are expected to:
Treat all people with respect, dignity, and kindness, regardless of their race, ethnicity, gender identity, sexual orientation, religion, disability, age, or other characteristics.
Promote a positive, inclusive, and supportive atmosphere.
Refrain from any form of harassment, discrimination, or disruptive behavior.
Comply with applicable laws, policies, and procedures.
2. Prohibited Conduct
The following behaviors are prohibited:
Verbal or physical harassment, including offensive comments or actions related to race, gender, sexual orientation, disability, or other protected attributes.
Bullying, intimidation, or any form of coercion.
Disruption of events, programs, or activities.
Possession or use of illegal substances during any LAP-sponsored activity.
Unauthorized promotion of external organizations or activities not affiliated with LAP.
3. Guidelines for Events and Programs
All participants must adhere to the mission and vision of Lower Adirondack Pride, fostering inclusivity and safety.
Attendees should respect the event schedule, spaces, and facilities.
Vendors, partners, and volunteers must comply with all relevant event-specific agreements and guidelines.
4. Case Management and Advocacy Services
Confidentiality and privacy must be upheld in all interactions.
Mutual respect between service providers and clients is mandatory.
Clients should adhere to scheduled appointments and notify staff in advance if unable to attend.
5. Enforcement of the Code of Conduct
The President of Lower Adirondack Pride reserves the right to uphold this Code of Conduct at any time to ensure a positive and safe experience for all. This includes, but is not limited to:
Issuing verbal or written warnings.
Asking individuals to leave an event or activity.
Banning individuals from future LAP activities.
Reporting illegal behavior to the appropriate authorities.

Lower Adirondack Pride is committed to creating spaces where all individuals feel valued, safe, and celebrated. Thank you for upholding this Code of Conduct and contributing to our mission of fostering inclusivity and community.
This policy is officially adopted by the Board of Directors of Lower Adirondack Pride during a duly convened board meeting, presided over by Cam Cardinale, President of the organization. The policy shall take effect on January 1, 2025.
Revisions to this policy may be made at the discretion of the Board of Directors, as deemed necessary, without prior notice. Any updates to this document will be reflected on the official Lower Adirondack Pride website in a timely manner.
